Marketers!
Q4 has begun. Are you ready? Do you have everything in place to ensure that you can react quickly to take advantage of fast-moving market signals and trends?
Do you have backup plans for your backup plans?
Is everyone on your team on the same page?
Before things start to really heat up, we have a 2023 holiday season marketer checklist for you to run through and ensure you’ve thought of everything.
A few of our key 2023 holiday season marketer checklist items
Optimization Calendar: Set a formal plan indicating how frequently you will optimize and what will be analyzed daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
Holiday Pro Tip: Set aside specific times for deep-dive analysis, ensuring consistent improvements and avoiding last-minute scrambles.
Marketers know that optimization is the key to squeezing the most ROI out of our budgets, but sometimes this exercise becomes a bit of a “back burner” task and is only properly addressed when there are glaring performance issues or a few hours of free time.
During the holiday season, prioritize optimization, starting with a formalized optimization schedule on your calendars to ensure it gets the time it deserves. You will likely want to bump up your cadence from your middle-of-the-year timing, which might be monthly or weekly, to a more often cadence of weekly or daily — even hourly if you have the data to do that.
Cross-Channel Consistency: Think like an omnichannel marketer to align with the omnichannel shopper. Ensure your messaging is harmonious across all platforms.
Holiday Pro Tip: Regularly review messaging across all channels. Shoppers see your brand in various spaces; offer them a cohesive experience.
In our Consumer Holiday survey, consumers plan to split their shopping between online and offline stores — making it truly one of the first omnichannel end-of-the-year shopping seasons in history. Ensure that your messaging is attuned to this reality and that you are speaking to consumers this year as omnichannel buyers. Offer ads that have a clear and logical progression as your potential customers switch between online and in-store browsing.
