In a blog post last week, Skai Helps You Stay Connected with Your Team When Working from Home, my Skai colleague, Melissa Angio, described how we are helping clients to stay on the same page as they work remotely during COVID-19.
Although our suite already has some great collaboration tools, she shared how our product team moved quickly to put on a hackathon and built the new Team Comments feature. Inspired by the way that comments work in Google Docs, it “enables Skai clients—whether on Skai Search or Skai Ecommerce—to add comments to Campaign entities just as they might do to a Google Doc. Skai Social clients get the added benefit of adding comments not only to Campaigns but to Ad Sets and Ads as well.”
This week, I thought it would be nice to share how some of our features help to keep teams organized. Running marketing campaigns sometimes feels like a team needs to be as much in sync as they would need to be to fly an airplane together. They need to stay 100% on the same page and no one can make the wrong decision at the wrong time or the plane will crash.
Okay, maybe the stakes aren’t that high, but in today’s new pandemic reality, it’s critical for a brand to maximize its marketing return. And while everyone’s working from home and so much minutia on the plates of digital marketers, staying organized is extremely important to remain successful.
After all, what’s the value of being connected if everything’s in disarray?’
The following Skai platform collaboration features help marketers to stay organized so they can stay on the same page about the health of their accounts and continue to run like a well-oiled machine.
Dashboards are one of the hallmarks of marketing platforms and an important part of daily campaign management. Once set up to display the most often viewed data points, marketers can quickly see KPIs at-a-glance when they login to their tools.
Skai’s in-app dashboards are some of the most configurable in the industry and not only are they very powerful for an individual practitioner, but they can be shared amongst a team.
Part of our dashboard approach is to offer integrations with Google Data Studio and other business intelligence (BI) tools so that marketers can power their own dashboards. Data from Skaio can be seamlessly transported into whatever tools your team chooses to use.
Skai supports the following business intelligence (BI) tools:
At the center and core of the Skai platforms is the campaign performance grid. Although dashboards can be set up to offer at-a-glance insights, the grid is the main area that every Skai customer uses to quickly slice-and-dice their data for analysis.
Because there are so many ways to filter and sort the grid, marketers often want to save a particular view the same way you might save a sort/filter setup in a spreadsheet solution such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. For example, a practitioner might filter the grid so only campaigns with the term “Brand” appear in the campaign name while also sorting them by highest to lowest spend. Because this is a common way they would want to see their performance data, they can then save that view—maybe as Brand Campaigns by Spend—so they can quickly choose it later from a handy drop-down menu.
Enabling teams to share their saved views is something we’ve offered for some time because we knew that teams would be more effective if they had easy access to each others’ grid views. Given this new era of quarantining, this feature is being used much more often for teams to stay organized. It’s also rather exciting when someone on the team uncovers a new and interesting way to look at the data and then can easily share with the rest of their team.
Note—Skai customers can set up custom access privileges for their views—including Read-Only so that they can share their views but no one else can change the settings accidentally.
Because practitioners often need to pull the same reports every week or month, creating automated reports has been functionality that Skai has had for a very long time. Using this feature, you can send an email report to one person—for example, to yourself, your boss, or your agency’s client.
While many teams are now working remotely, Team Reports enable you to build reports and send it to multiple people at once. Imagine you’re a team leader and you want an important report auto-generated and sent daily to your team for your morning meeting. By using Team Reports, it saves your entire group from having to go into the tool individually and pull that report themselves.
You can automatically send your team daily, weekly, or monthly reports to keep everyone in sync.
While many marketers are working remotely for the first time, disparate teams have become very commonplace in every industry. Post-pandemic, many industry experts have hypothesized that this trend will continue. In many cases, companies may have been hesitant to offer workplace flexibility because they weren’t sure if it would negatively impact productivity.
Many teams are now proving that working remotely is something that can be handled successfully—as long as they can stay connected and organized—and many workers have expressed that they are even more productive working from home than they have been at the office.
Skai is a customer-centric company and our roadmap reflects how we build toward your needs.
